Sealing Devices president recognized for leadership, community impact, and commitment to growth in Western New York

LANCASTER, N.Y. — August 12, 2026 — Sealing Devices is proud to announce that Elizabeth Galanis, President of Sealing Devices, has been named to the 2026 Buffalo Business First Power 200 Women list. The annual recognition honors influential women helping shape the economic, social, and cultural future of Western New York.

Galanis was ranked No. 106 on the 2026 list and was recognized for her leadership as a third-generation executive at Sealing Devices, the family-founded manufacturing company established by her grandfather in 1963. Today, she is helping lead the company through continued growth and expansion at its Walden Avenue campus in Lancaster.

A Western New York native, Galanis began building her professional foundation outside the family business, following her family’s belief in gaining outside experience first. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Medaille University, she launched her career with the Buffalo Sabres, where she worked in ticket sales, before moving into advertising and payroll sales for other organizations.

She joined Sealing Devices in 2006, starting in customer service and steadily advancing through marketing, sales, and leadership roles. Her career path reflects both a deep understanding of the business and a hands-on commitment to the people and processes that drive its success.

In her Buffalo Business First profile, Galanis reflected on the importance of staying rooted in the region while helping move the company forward.

“Staying rooted in Western New York has always been important to me, both personally and professionally,” she said.

Under her leadership, Sealing Devices continues to invest in its employees, facilities, capabilities, and long-term future. The company’s expansion at its Lancaster campus is designed to improve operational flow, accessibility, and capacity while positioning the organization for continued growth.

Beyond her leadership at Sealing Devices, Galanis also serves in a business advisory capacity for the new Buffalo location of the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. In this role, she contributes her experience as a manufacturing executive and regional business leader to support the institute’s efforts to prepare students for meaningful careers and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Galanis’ recognition also reflects the values she brings to leadership. She describes herself as “firm but fair” and is passionate about developing people while creating an environment where the next generation feels supported, challenged, and empowered to accomplish meaningful things.

Her inclusion on the 2026 Power 200 Women list adds to a growing list of honors and reflects the impact she continues to make within Sealing Devices, the regional manufacturing community, and Western New York as a whole.
